 Just playing with the punches. So, here is the gorgeous 3-tiered cake in baby pink with the flower punches or the butterfly punches.

Ma jucam cu perforatoarele. Si am facut tortul meu cu 3 etaje pe roz cu fluturi sau cu flori. Super!

Bride and groom heart favor boxes / Marturii de nunta cutii mire si mireasa

I made the cutest bride and groom heart favor boxes. And instead of the bow ties I put some tiny butterflies: black for the groom but pink for the bride. They're just gorgeous.  

 Am facut niste cutii inimi - marturii de nunta - mire si mireasa. Si partea care imi place mult e ca am pus fluturasi in loc de papion: negru pentru mire si roz pentru mireasa. Si sunt superbe! 

Butterfly punches / Fluturi din hartie

 

I was playing with the butterfly punches and started gluing them together. This is how they turned out: some kind of butterfly stars. I love them but I don't know how to use them, what kind of projects? I was thinking they would look kind of cool just hang with a string. Maybe?In front of a window? I don't know.

Ma jucam cu niste fluturi din hartie si am inceput sa-i lipesc. Si asta e ce a iesit: un fel de stea din fluturi. Imi place tare mult cum au iesit dar nu stiu la ce sa-i folosesc. Ma gandeam ca poate ar arata fain agatati si pusi la fereastra. Poate?

Recycled Pepsi Cola plastic bottle into clear slice cake favor boxes / Cutii marturii reciclate

 Question: What do you do with an empty bottle of Pepsi/Coca Cola? Well, you can bin it or recycle it, like I did.

Oh, yes, what you see here are 2 recycled bottles of Pepsi Cola. Of course recycled in gorgeous favor boxes.

It is funny how one thing leads to another. I've been goggling for birdhouses. I want one. And I saw a really cute one made from a plastic bottle. So, last night I was doing some paper card favor boxes, the ones shaped like a slice of cake, and thinking how could I make a birdhouse from a plastic bottle. We drank the last drops from a 2.5 liters and now the plastic bottle was in front of me: empty. I looked at it (while working on my card favor boxes ) and I just thought there's a lot of nice, clear plastic in that bottle. You see the 2.5 liters bottle of Pepsi Cola is big, therefore if you cut the top and the bottom you get a really nice, almost like an A4 clear plastic sheet. 

Can you get something 'greener' than that?

 You can put pretty much anything in them. The plastic is very hard. You can also make a rainbow of colors. 

 Ce poti face cu o sticla goala de Pepsi Cola de 2,5L? O arunci sau o reciclezi. Cutiile acestea (marturii de nunta/botez reciclate) sunt facute din 2 sticle de 2,5l de Pepsi Cola.

Brown balls mobile hanging

 

My hubby and I were busy yesterday making this mobile hanging with balls in shades of brown and cream. We really love it. Very easy to make, just takes a lot of time, like any other handmade project. We used ribbon, butterfly punches in 3 different sizes, flower punches, and a scallop heart punch. I love that they are moving all the time.

I was google-ing for flower balls and my hubby liked how they looked like and told me he wants one too. Well, when he says something like that, even if I don't want to, I say yes, because he has really few moments when he actually wants to do something beautiful.(he is the practical guy, makes only what he must)

 

 

Ieri am fost ocupati. Am facut mobilul asta (care e cuvantul in romana pentru mobile hanging?) din mingi de polistiren pe nunate de maro si crem. Usor de facut dar ia timp. 

Ma uitam pe google dupa mingi de flori si i-au placut si sotului. Asa ca ne-am pus sa le facem. Mi-am scos cutia cu fonte, perforatoarele, acele cu gamalie si ne-am apucat de treaba.

Paper feathers / Pene din hartie

 I have been doing these paper feathers for a while and thought I should be using them in some projects of my own. So I made this huge flower only by gluing the feathers together. Another project that I love how it turned is just a simple paper feather with a bow and some tassels (that I also handmade) . Other projects that I used the paper feathers is here  and also for my favor boxes here and here. 

   

   Fac penele astea din hartie de ceva vreme si m-am gandit sa le folosesc si in niste proiecte. Astfel am facut floarea asta mare doar lipind pene una de cealalta. Un alt proiect care imi place tare cum a iesit este o pana simpla cu 2 ciucurei aurii (pe care ii fac tot eu) si o fonta rosie.

Martisor de 1 Martie / March 1st spring trinket

Nici nu mi-am dat seama, dar 1 Martie e dupa colt! Nu mi-as fi dat seama, dar Doamna Soacra mi-a trimis un martisor (dragut din partea ei!). Noi sus la munte suntem rupti de realitate, iar timpul nu e relevant.

  

Asa ca m-am gandit sa pun si eu un mesaj cu ocazia venirii primaverii (pentru toata lumea, nu doar pentru femei):  Sa aveti parte de multe primaveri si inceputuri noi!



I never realized but March 1st is round the corner. I would have never realized but My Monster-in-Law sent me a 'spring trinket' (that was very nice of her). Here in the mountains time is irrelevant.
So, I thought I say something nice with this occasion (the coming of spring) to everyone, not only to women (as it is the custom in Romania): May your life be full of Springs and new beginnings!

Flower 'tulip' favor boxes in peach and ivory / Marturii de nunta (botez) 'lalea' in crem si culoarea piersicii

 

In the spirit of 'Why should all favor boxes be the same?' I made these flower like favor boxes, this time in pale peach and ivory. The fun part is that I can play with the colors of the 'petals'.

In ideea ca 'De ce ar trebui toate marturiile de nunta / botez sa fie la fel?' am facut cutiile astea care arata ca niste flori (lalele imi place mie sa cred) in culoarea piersicii si ivoriu/crem. Partea faina este ca ma pot 'juca' cu 'petalele' cutiilor si le pot schimba culorile.

Mixed favor boxes / Marturii de nunta - botez elegante sau pline de culoare

Last night I was thinking why should all favor boxes be the same? I mean, same color, same pattern? With this idea in mind I started making some samples. So, slices of cakes in different colors and different embellishments for a mixed party. If something more elegant is required I made a set of 4 lilac and white butterfly favor boxes. (lot more than 4 patterns can be made with the butterfly punches - depending on my imagination )

Aseara ma gandeam de ce toate marturiile (de nunta sau de botez) trebuie sa fie la fel? Ma refer la aceeasi culoare si model? Asa ca, cu ideea asta in minte m-am apucat sa fac niste mostre.

In prima faza am facut felii de tort (din carton)  in diferite culori si diferite modele (cu flori si fluturi)  pentru o petrecere mai simpla.

Pentru o petrecere mai eleganta am facut un set de 4 modele (pe mov deschis si alb) (se pot obtine mult mai multe modele - depinde doar de imaginatie).

Peacock paper feather / Pana de paun din hartie

I make these feathers from paper card and I sell them in sets of 50. Yesterday while making some for a client I was thinking I would like to make a special feather.

Fac penele astea din carton si le vand la set de 50 buc. Ieri, in timp ce faceam o comanda pentru cineva, m-am gandit ca ar fi fain sa fac o pana mai speciala.



So, I started making different patterns.

My aim was to make a peacock feather from paper card. After many hours of trial and error this is the result.
